Vance Honeycutt (Salisbury, UNC) hit his first homer of the season on Saturday and had four RBIs as Frederick thrashed Winston-Salem 11-2.
Honeycutt hit a three-run homer in the eighth to bump a 6-1 lead to 9-1. He walked with the bases loaded in the ninth for another RBI.
Honeycutt is 3-for-19 for the season with six RBIs.

Cobb Hightower (East Rowan) is off to a strong start with Delmarva in the Carolina League. He batted cleanup and had three singles in four at-bats on Saturday. He’s batting .458.

Austin Love (West Rowan, UNC) pitched a scoreless inning with two strikeouts on Saturday. Love has pitched in three games for Springfield and has nine strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

Kane Kepley (South Rowan, UNC) is 4-for-17 in the early going for South Bend.
Three of his hits have been doubles.
