ASHEBORO — North Rowan’s boys and girls track and field teams placed third in the Get Your Marks Invitational held in Asheboro.
Asheboro’s boys won the meet with 174.5 points. Walkertown was second with 128, while North Rowan had 76. Ten teams scored.
North’s Zyalon Simmon, Dyaon Norman-Jackson, Shakeel Monroe Jr. and Nicholas Morrow won the 4×200 (1:32.81) and 4×100 (44.93) relays.
North Rowan’s Myles Witherspoon won the 110 hurdles in 15.74 seconds and was second with a high jump of 5 feet, 8 inches.
North’s Brenden Ellis was second in the long jump (20-1) and third in the triple jump (40-7).
North’s Zy’Quize Carpenter was second in the triple jump (41-8).

Ty’Tiana Clemons led the North girls with first places in the 300 hurdles (50.47) and long jump (17-0.5).
North’s girls — Clemons, Ky’mari Davidson, Amiyah Stevenson and Lavierah Walker — won the 4×200 relay in 1:51.68.
North scored 61.5 points and finished behind Asheboro and Wheatmore. Eleven teams scored.
