SALISBURY — Brandon Crabtree, Sam Hunter and Malachi Cloud homered as Catawba’s baseball team scored in six different innings and pounded UNC Pembroke 14-6 on Tuesday.
The sixth-ranked Indians (21-4) are 11-0 at Newman Park.
Crabtree homered in the third inning as the Indians took a 3-0 lead, but the Braves (19-6) socked two homers in the fourth off Catawba starter Zach Gaydos, who struck out seven, and went up 4-3.
Catawba regained the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Crabtree walked with the bases loaded to score the run that gave the Indians a 5-4 lead.
Logan Dyer (East Rowan) had three hits and two RBIs. Crabtree drove in three. Hunter knocked in two. Cloud had one of his best days of the season with three hits, three runs and three RBIs.
Braeden Major got the win. He got the last two outs in the top of the fourth and was credited with the win after the Indians took the lead for good in the bottom of the inning.
Morgan Padgett (East Rowan) had a hit and scored a run for the visitors.
Landon Lucas hit two homers for the Braves.
