LANDIS — South Rowan’s girls soccer team romped 9-0 against North Meck in non-conference action on Wednesday.
North Meck (0-4) is struggling, while South (2-0) is expected to be one of the stronger teams in the South Piedmont Conference.
Cailynn Withers had three goals and two assists. Avery Rawlings had two goals and two assists.
Freshman Anabelle Chavis had three goals and one assist. She’s scored six goals in the Raiders’ two blowout wins.
Sophie Steedley scored a goal.
Margo Maples only had to make two saves for the shutout.

GRANITE QUARRY — East Rowan only got a couple of shots and lost 6-0 to Uwharrie Charter on Wednesday.
Addie Lambert made nine saves for the Mustangs (0-3).

KANNAPOLIS — A.L. Brown is 3-0 after beating Carson 4-0 on Wednesday.
Clear Wesley and Akira Hernandez scored two goals each for the Wonders.
Carson, which opened with a win against North Rowan, is 1-1.
North Rowan got its first win on Wednesday by beating Lexington, 3-1.
