A single vehicle crash resulted in the driver’s death on Thursday.
The crash involved a Lexus with two occupants. The vehicle collided with a tree in the 200 block of Forest Glen Drive near the intersection of East Glenview Drive around 2:47 a.m.
The Sirius XM crash notification system alerted authorities to the incident, but a caller also observed the wreckage and contacted 911 saying that a car was smoking and that they did not see any movement.
According to information from the Salisbury Police Department, the driver was killed as a result of the crash. The passenger was airlifted to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte with injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening.
Alcohol containers were reportedly located in the front of the vehicle.
