NEWBERRY, S.C. — Catawba’s softball team hit four homers and scored 31 runs to sweep a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader at Newberry on Saturday.
Catawba (16-13, 2-2) won 15-8 and 16-7 in six innings.
Brianna Gallagher, the reigning SAC Player of the Year, had seven hits and drove in eight runs.
Maddie Altiers homered and drove in four runs in the first game.
Kate Holland had a strong relief outing to help the Indians win the first game.
Gallagher, Jordan McCorkle and Ellie Southern socked homers in the second game.
Gallagher scored five runs in that game. Gallagher and McCorkle drove in four apiece.
