NEWBERRY, S.C. — Mary Spry (Carson) had 20 points and eight rebounds as Catawba’s women’s basketball team rolled 67-49 at Newberry on Wednesday.
Sheree Gidney, 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting, and Saniya Wilson, 12 points, came off the bench to have big games.
The Indians had one of their better shooting nights of the season in Eleazer Arena, 53 percent from the field, 6-for-14 on 3-pointers and 13-for-16 at the foul line. Catawba also out-rebounded the Wolves, so it was a breezy night.
Catawba led by 15 at the half and by as many as 25 in the second half.
Catawba (12-14, 10-11) has righted the ship after a dismal stretch and will be in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament as the 7 seed.
