Lean years: The Cavaliers went 9-0 in winning those 3 Moir titles, but they have been winless in the event six times since 2000. The roughest stretch was from 2009-2012 when they went 1-8 in the tournament.
North was 2-1 in the Moir tournament in 2004, 2014 and 2019.

Sophilia Hipps — She’s the captain. Hipps played in 11 Moir games and never had a bad one — 21-19-15-18-21-17-19-22-20-23-16. That’s 211 points. Hipps was MVP in 2002 when the Cavaliers beat Davie in the final.
Nycieko Dixon — Dixon was the MVP choice in 2013 when the Cavaliers had an all-star team. Their closest game in the tournament was a 20-point win against Davie in a semifinal. Dixon scored 47 in the tournament. North looked like a state championship team at Christmas — the Moir title game against a good East team was a 71-40 romp — but Brielle Blaire, the team’s post player, suffered a season-ending injury.
Special Washington — Washington was an important part of the 2013 team and was MVP in 2015 when North won its second Moir title in three years under coach Brian Lytton. The 2015 team didn’t look nearly as scary as 2013, but Washington, Aliyah Farmer and Aundrea Godfrey led the Cavaliers to a series of tough Moir wins. Washington scored 20 in the final against Carson.
Bailee Goodlett — She didn’t get to play in the 2023 Moir, but she averaged 22 points in the 2021 event and 21 points in 2022.
Hannah Wilkerson — She had excellent Moir tournaments in 2018 and 2019. She scored 104 points in six games.There was no tournament in 2020. Then she scored 33 points in two games in the 2021 tournament before it was cut short.
Honorable Mention: Brittany Ellis had a 32-point game against Carson in 2023. … Brianna White had a 32-point game in a loss to East in 2013. … Demeria Robinson scored 46 points as North won two out of three in 2014. … Blaire helped dominate the 2013 Moir with 39 points and lots of blocks and rebounds. … Courtney Hill averaged 16 in the 2000 Moir.
