SALISBURY — The intersection of Main and Innes streets was blocked off early afternoon on Thursday, Oct. 15, as Salisbury-area fire personnel responded to a report at 101 N. Main St.
At 12:56 p.m., fire personnel were dispatched to the scene after the street-level shop owner smelled smoke and called 911. All Salisbury companies as well Spencer, East Spencer and Granite Quarry departments were called.
After investigation, which included two ladders up to the building’s roof, the determined cause was a bathroom fan mechanical failure, according to Salisbury Fire Chief Bob Parnell. All other possibilities were eliminated by the fire marshall.
The scene was called under control by 1:15 p.m. and personnel began to disperse, clearing the area within roughly an hour.
