LANDIS – South Rowan’s varsity football team was successful in Friday scrimmages with Parkwood and Bradford Prep.
South head coach Chris Walsh said the Raiders scored twice, while holding Parkwood to one score. South put up four TDs, while holding Bradford Prep to one.
Nic Woolf and Jamantay Cox scored two rushing TDs each.
“Our o-line played really well all night,” Walsh said. “Stout run blocking and only allowed one sack.”
Brooks Hunter threw a touchdown pass to Kaiden Fisher.
Tight ends Jeb Ritchie and Lincoln Carlberg had some productive catches.
On the defensive side of the ball, Owen Smith, Jeremy Davis, Mason Overcash, Brooks Harrison and Kole Kinley made outstanding plays for the Raiders.
Davis and Houstonn Polston had sacks. Kinley made an interception.
“Very happy with the night,” Walsh said. “It went about as expected. We’ve still got some things to work on and some position battles to sort out.”

South’s jayvees battled High Point Central and Parkwood.
QB Logan Rabon was a leader for South’s offense.
Levi Ballard and Brody Linker stood out on defense.
