SAWMILLS – The top-seeded Rowan Blue team rolled into Wednesday’s Junior Legion state championship game with a 10-0 romp against host Caldwell County on Tuesday.

The Rowan senior team (12-10) took a tough loss on Tuesday in the winner’s bracket final, falling to Hickory 6-5 on a seventh-inning passed ball.
Rowan bounced back to beat Caldwell on Wednesday afternoon, 4-1, to stay alive in the tournament and reach the championship game, but would have to beat Hickory twice to win it all.
