PFAFFTOWN – Rowan Little League’s 10U softball team went undefeated in the District 2 Tournament and qualified for the state tournament that will be held in Pitt County.
Rowan has won District 2 in this age group 13 straight times.
Players on the 10U Rowan team are Harper Jones, Charli Randall, Sadie O’Donnell, Gabbi Cottone, Kennedy Cochran, Julia Nash, Charley Horton, Hadley O’Dell, Ezra Shaw, Cashlyn Fischbeck, Avery Stenger and McKinley Lang.
Rowan was 4-0 in the six-team tournament. Jones pitched two perfect games on the way to the finals and pitched a no-hitter in Rowan’s 7-0 win in the championship game against East Chatham. Jones and Randall combined on a one-hitter in the first meeting with East Chatham.
Rowan allowed one run in the tournament, while scoring 52. Rowan won 21-0 against Northwest Forsyth; 14-1 against East Chatham, and 10-0 against East Surry to get to the final. The other teams entered in the tournament were King and South Little League (Winston-Salem).
Rowan also won the 8U and 12U District 2 softball tournaments.
