SALISBURY — A Salisbury man was arrested Thursday morning after police said he stabbed another man during a disturbance.
Police initially responded to a home in the 500 block of North Shaver Street in reference to a disturbance with a reported stabbing, confirmed a Salisbury Police Department spokesperson. When they arrived, they reportedly found a man who had been stabbed, suffering non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for treatment.
Mark Edward Durham, 57, was reportedly arrested a short time later at his residence, near the location of the stabbing. He was charged with felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury.
The spokesperson said that Durham and the victim knew each other. According to court documents, Durham was charged with stabbing the victim in the abdomen multiple times.
Durham was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center and given a $50,000 bond.
