Regarding my recent Dear Neighbor letter, Nefarious Behavior, I thank you, Mr. Kirk, and stand corrected. I did have my facts wrong in my sentence that said Auditor Dave Boliek was the only elected Republican on the NC Council of State and I apologize to readers. I do hope that my letter and Mr. Kirk’s comments will encourage voters to learn more about how NC state government operates, to ask hard questions about what is currently happening in the NC General Assembly and State Auditor’s office, and to hold our elected and appointed officials to the values of truth and integrity that we demand of ourselves. Happy 250th to Mr. Kirk, to our fellow Americans, and to our democratic republic.
