On June 9 on a radio show, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson let us know that “Entitlement programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security have to be adjusted and fixed” and not in a good way. For all of us who have paid into a system that was promised to be there for us when the time comes, apparently, this will not be the case.
These people in government at the national level do not care about us. They only want to find more money for the president, donors and other vastly wealthy people. I have already experienced this to a small degree when my social security check this year was decreased due to IRMAA. I called SS and this is something few of us have heard of. Basically, if while receiving the social security you had paid into the system, if they find that you have prudently saved your money over those years, they can determine that you don’t need as much as originally allotted. As a business owner, I paid double into social security for myself — both as an owner and an employee of my business. Check it out.
They have a plan to “adjust and fix” our programs like Medicare, Medicaid and SS. As he said, “Desperate times call for desperate measures.”
So don’t be surprised if elections go their way and they enact their reforms to take from those that rightfully paid into this system and hand it over to the billionaires. Don’t put your head in the sand or think it won’t happen to you. Do your research. Billions of our tax dollars are going to the wealthy and their causes. We can see it already happening. Get out and vote.
