BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UNC Greensboro senior Kaylyn Belfield reached the 200-hits milestone for her college career on Sunday,
Belfield went 2-for-3 as the Spartans beat Samford 8-5 in a Southern Conference softball game. The hits were her 200th and 201st.
Belfield is a 2021 A.L. Brown graduate and was South Piedmont Conference Player of the Year that season.
She’s had 131 hits, 62 last season and 69 this season, in her two years at UNCG. She started her college career at Lipscomb.
Belfield is battling. 381 this season and has walked 21 times for a .448 on-base percentage.
UNC Greensboro won the Southern Conference regular season. The Spartans (39-17, 17-4) have a first-round bye in the conference tournament. They’ll play their first game on May 7. The tournament is in Chattanooga, Tenn.
