A Pilot Mountain woman was killed early Saturday morning following a crash on I-85 South in Rowan County.
Shannon Patricia Jackson, 37, was driving a Honda Civic about 1:33 a.m. on Saturday when her car hit the back of a rollback truck that was towing another rollback truck, according to NC Highway Patrol Master Trooper Whit Effird. The crash occurred about one mile south of Webb Road.
The Honda suffered heavy fire and both police and firefighters responded to the scene, according to reports.
Jackson’s family has been notified.
The driver of the truck was cited for a load violation, registration violations and a child restraint violation.
