SNOW HILL – East Rowan freshman Cam Honeycutt tied for seventh in the Drip Golf Tour’s Cutter Creek Junior Open over the weekend.
Honeycutt shot a bogey-free 2-under 70 on Saturday. He shot 4-over 76 in windier conditions on Sunday. He finished at 2-over 146 for the event and was five shots off the pace.
The South Piedmont Conference golfers will return to action at McCanless on Thursday. East Rowan has been consistently strong, with Salisbury always a threat. South Rowan, Carson and West Rowan have all had strong days.
The Rowan County Championships are scheduled for April 13 at Crescent.
