Tuesday games …
MOUNT ULLA – South Rowan overcame two homers by West Rowan’s Ansley Jenkins and stayed undefeated in the South Piedmont Conference.
The Raiders, who have won 13 in a row, beat the Falcons 9-7 on Tuesday for a season sweep. It was 14-13 in the first meeting. South (17-1, 13-0) clinched the SPC championship last week.
West Rowan (9-12, 9-4) led 3-0 after four innings, but the Raiders turned things around with a five-run top of the fifth.
South carried a 5-4 lead into the seventh and added four insurance runs. That made the difference, as the Falcons scored three times in the bottom half of the seventh.
Remi Hagerty pitched a complete game for South, striking out four, walking two and allowing seven hits.
West used all three of its pitchers – Jenkins, Reese Poole and Raney Phelps. Phelps pitched three scoreless innings.
Danica Krieg had two hits and three RBIs for South. Hagerty and Tenley Shell had two hits. Cressley Patterson’s double was the only extra-base hit for South. She scored twice. It was a rare game with no Leisha Carter hits, but she was credited with two RBIs.
Poole and Tinley Summitt had doubles for the Falcons. Jenkins supplied most of the offense, scoring three runs and knocking in four.

GRANITE QUARRY – East Rowan cruised 15-0 and 11-0 in a doubleheader sweep of Salisbury on Tuesday.
The sweep moved the Mustangs (14-8, 10-3) into second place in the South Piedmont Conference standings.
East’s pitchers limited Salisbury (0-17, 0-13) to one hit (by Bailey Hall) in the doubleheader.
East scored seven runs in the first to win the 15-0 game in three innings. Alli Talley had a triple. Gillian Barber and Emma Efird had doubles.
Jordan Dry hit a Senior Night homer in the 11-0 second game that went five innings.

CONCORD – Northwest Cabarrus won 7-3 against Carson in Tuesday’s South Piedmont Conference game.
Caylee Snow and Reagan Bradshaw did a good job in the circle for the Cougars.
Snow had two hits. Snow and Leah Troutman had doubles for Carson (8-12, 5-8), but the Trojans (10-8, 7-6) have been playing well down the stretch.

KANNAPOLIS – A.L. Brown pounded Cox Mill 15-4 in five innings in Greater Metro Conference action on Tuesday.
The Wonders (15-4, 11-2) got homers from Marynda Blackwelder and Millie Deal.
Blackwelder drove in four runs. Madyson Baker had four hits against the Chargers (9-13, 6-7), including her fourth triple of the season.
