Tuesday games …
LANDIS – Remi Hagerty pitched a shutout as South Rowan’s softball team beat Concord 6-0 on Tuesday and moved a step closer to securing the South Piedmont Conference championship.
It was a close game early, but the Raiders got some separation from the Spiders (6-9, 4-7) with a three-run fifth inning.
Hagerty, a sophomore lefty, struck out six. She didn’t walk a batter and allowed three hits.
South (15-1, 11-0) has a two-game lead over West Rowan and East Rowan with three SPC games left. South still has a game left with the Falcons and Mustangs. South is home against East on Friday.
South has won 11 straight since its only loss of the season against West Davidson.
Hagerty had two hits and two RBIs.
Cressley Patterson homered and doubled. The homer was her ninth of the season. Leisha Carter had two hits, including her third homer. Mary Okula also had two hits.

CONCORD – East Rowan pulled out an exciting game at Northwest Cabarrus on Tuesday.
The Mustangs trailed 5-3 going to the seventh, but scored twice to send the game to extra innings. East won 8-5 with three runs in the eighth.
Lily Kluttz had four hits for the Mustangs (11-7, 8-2), including a triple. Kimberly Troublefield had two doubles and three RBIs. Morgan Efird had two hits and three RBIs.
Regan Williams was the winning pitcher and had two hits.
Haylee Ellis homered and drove in four runs for the Trojans (7-8, 5-6).

CHINA GROVE – Ava Baxter slugged two homers to lead West Rowan to a 14-4 South Piedmont Conference win at Carson on Tuesday.
The game went seven innings as the Falcons (9-10, 9-2) didn’t get a double-figure lead until the top of the seventh.
Baxter knocked in four runs. Raney Phelps had three hits, including a homer, and drove in three runs.
Tinley Summitt had two hits and three RBIs. Reese Poole had a double and scored twice.
Poole and Ansley Jenkins got the job done in the circle.
Piper Thonen and Bel Gaither had 3-for-3 nights for Carson (7-10, 4-7).
West bounced back fr0m Monday’s 10-0 loss to High Point Christian. Phelps had two hits in that one.

CHARLOTTE – A.L. Brown scored eight runs in the second inning and blew out Berry Academy 19-1 in five innings in a Greater Metro Conference softball game.
Mary Katherine Black pitched four innings and struck out seven for the Wonders (11-4, 9-2).
Myla McNeely and Madyson Baker had triples. Kennedy Yow and Taylor Murphy had doubles.
McNeely had three RBIs.
The Cardinals are 6-7 and 3-7 in the league.

CONCORD – Robinson beat Salisbury 16-1 in South Piedmont Conference softball on Tuesday.
Lylah Delngenis pitched a four-inning, no-hitter for the Bulldogs (6-9, 2-9). Kendra Nichols homered.
Statesville (1-10) got its first victory on Monday with a 15-0 win against the Hornets (0-14, 0-10) in three innings.
