A Salisbury man has been charged after deputies reportedly found cocaine in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Monday.
The stop began at approximately 11:40 p.m., when deputies with the Davie County Sheriff’s Office stopped a Nissan Maxima at the intersection on U.S. Highway 601 South near the Holy Cross Road for a traffic violation, according to a release from the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.
During the stop, deputies reportedly smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and the driver allegedly told deputies that someone had recently been smoking in the car and gave verbal consent for a search.
Deputies found a baggie containing crack cocaine on McIntosh and a scale, a bag containing a white powder substance and an unknown blue tablet in the vehicle, according to the release.
McIntosh was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine with intent to sell and deliver, felony possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was placed in the Davie County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Davie County District Court on April 2.
