HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Catawba’s baseball team crushed Coker 22-7 on Friday in the first game of a South Atlantic Conference weekend series.
The Indians had 14 hits and drew 16 walks, so it was a merry-go-round on the bases until the game was stopped by the mercy rule after seven innings.
Brandon Crabtree homered.
Logan Dyer (East Rowan) has been incredibly hot and drove in five runs. Jake Dunlap also drove in five.
Colt Wilkins benefited from massive run support, survived Coker’s five-run second inning and got the win.

On Saturday afternoon, in the first game of a doubleheader, Crabtree and Dyer stayed hot and the Indians romped 14-1 over the Cobras.
The game was stopped by the mercy rule after eight.
Crabtree and Matthew Connolly (West Rowan) homered. Dyer doubled, tripled and drove in three. Hunter Atkins knocked in three. Ty Hubbard (South Rowan) had three hits and two RBIs.
Parker Lakey got the win.
