CARY — South Rowan swimmers scored in Thursday’s 4A State Championships held at Triangle Aquatic Center.
South’s girls scored 24 points and finished 19th in the team scoring.
Sadie Siscoe, Ava Pritchard, Kayleigh Draughn and Madalynn Gulledge were 12th in the 200 medley relay (2:21.43) for 10 points. Pritchard, Eva Shue, Draughn and Gracie Hinson were 12th in the 200 free relay (1:58.19) for another 10.
Pritchard, a freshman, earned four points for a 13th-place finish in the 50 free (27.40 seconds).

South’s boys accumulated 17.5 points and finished 21st.
Sophomore Jared McElhannon got four points for 13th in the 200 IM (2:28.15) and 1.5 points for a tie for 15th in the 50 free (24.60).
Freshman Guy Deal had two 11th-place finishes for South’s other 12 points. Deal swam 1:05.86 in the 100 butterfly and 1:03.24 in the 100 backstroke.
Lake Norman Charter easily won both state titles, with the boys scoring 417 points and the girls collecting 490.5.
Salisbury had a number of state qualifiers, but didn’t score in the meet.
