SALISBURY — Ashes To Go will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 732 Lincoln Road, Salisbury on Feb. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Pastor James Harley, who serves as pastor of the local congregation, along with Freedom Presbyterian Church in Statesville, will be administering the ashes. Those who come may either get out of their cars or park in the church parking lot and remain in them for the administering of the ashes.
This will be the third year that they have offered the Ashes To Go to the community, and Harley said that last year’s turnout was a good one.
In past years they have offered the ashes at multiple locations; however, this year it will be held at only the church as Harley said, “it was tough going from place to place” and noted that the attendance at the church was better.
When asked about providing the ashes again this year, he said that he was doing it “because so many people said they did not have time to go to a service. Without the Ashes to go, they would have missed out.”
