BALTIMORE — Livingstone’s stay in the CIAA men’s basketball tournament was brief.
The Bowie State team that showed up at CFG Bank Arena for the Tuesday nightcap was not the same Bowie State team that was getting kicked around in the CIAA the last few months. Four Bulldogs scored 20 or more points in a 100-77 romp that ended the Blue Bears’ season.
Bowie State (8-21) shot almost 60 percent and made nine 3-pointers. Theoretically the underdogs, the Bulldogs scored 56 points in the second half.
Jaiden McGhee had 20 points and 14 rebounds for BSU. KJ West scored 24.
Livingstone (10-17) shot 2-for-13 on 3-pointers, but was able to put five men in double figures. Kenneth Tyree and Camerin Horton scored 15 each. Jeremiah Mobley scored 14. Omarion Bodrick had 13, and Erick Coffey scored 10. James Nipper, Livingstone’s All-CIAA pick, scored six.
