Individual wrestling regionals were conducted on Friday, with top four finishers qualifying for the state tournament.
West Rowan, A.L. Brown, East Rowan, South Rowan and Carson advanced wrestlers to the state event.

WELCOME — The Falcons won the 5A West Regional team championship conducted at North Davidson with 151.5 points.
James Stephens (132 pounds) and Andrew Taylor (144) were regional champions. Xavier Gray (215) was runner-up. Harry Hartwell (190) and Bryson Ellis (heavyweight) placed third. Chris Gaither (138) was fourth.
East Rowan was third in the 5A West Regional with 109 points.
Braylen Yates was regional champ at 165. Christopher McDonald was runner-up at 113. Jamal Hall (138) took third. Catoe Burd (120) and Lucas Restrepo (126) placed fourth.
Carson’s Joseph Little, runner-up at 120, and Griffin Barber, fourth at 157, were state qualifiers in the 5A West Regional. The Cougars were 11th in the team scores with 55.5 points.

MAIDEN — In the 4A West Regional at Maiden, South Rowan was fifth in team scoring with 119 points.
Carson Raper had four pins at 106 and was regional champion. Garrison Raper (132) and Emilio Diaz (113) were runners-up. Aiden Carter (175) was fourth.
Salisbury scored nine points.

SPENCER — In the 1A/2A West Regional hosted by North Rowan, the Cavaliers scored 22.5 points.

KANNAPOLIS — A.L. Brown hosted the 7A West Regional and finished second to Davie in the team scoring with 147 points.
The Wonders had three regional champions — Landon Logan (120), Gavin Yow (190) and Kaulton Kuddie (215).
Yow is 47-1. Kuddie is 46-2. Logan is 43-5.
Chase Hernandez was runner-up at 150. Mason Cook (157) was third. Everon Riddle (132) and Quentin Whisonafe (heavyweight) placed fourth.
The individual state championships will take place in Greensboro, with girls wrestling on Feb. 19-20 and boys wrestling on Feb. 20-21.
