SALISBURY — Investigators with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office have issued an update on the search for Johnathan Morales, a 13-year-old child missing from his China Grove home for weeks.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, investigators have spoken with individuals who have confirmed sightings of Morales in the last couple of days.
Those witnesses reportedly indicated to the sheriff’s office that Morales was OK and not in any danger, but did tell investigators that his hair had been cut shorter than in pictures released to the public.
“This is an ongoing investigation, and investigators are actively searching for Morales to ensure that he is located and returned home safely. The FBI and N.C. State Bureau of Investigation are involved in the search and assisting the sheriffs’ office.
