SALISBURY — A 28-year-old man is dead after a crash on Airport Road Saturday morning.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Airport Road near the Village Creek Way intersection. A N.C. State Highway Patrol spokesperson said that 28-year-old Brandon Ulysses Flores, a Salisbury resident, was traveling east on Airport Road towards U.S. Highway 29 in a blue Nissan Sentra when he appeared to travel off the roadway.
The Sentra ran into a roadside ditch before striking a tree. Flores was pronounced dead on scene.
The NCSHP is continuing to investigate the crash. The spokesperson said that information on what may have caused the crash was not available at 12:30 p.m. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
The crash shut down Airport Road into the afternoon as emergency personnel worked on the scene and investigated the incident.
