KERNERSVILLE — South Rowan’s Carson Raper was the champ at 113 pounds in the Phillip Reed Rumble on Saturday.
Raper won a 9-1 major decision in the final against a Southwest Guilford wrestler.
South’s Emilio Diaz placed fourth at 106.
• In the girls tournament, South Rowan’s Karli Overcash had three pins and finished second at 132.

CHARLOTTE — East Rowan’s boys placed second in the 10-team Sabre Duals hosted by South Meck.
The tournament consisted mostly of Charlotte schools. East won 52-21 against South Meck; 64-18 against West Charlotte; 69-6 over Olympic, and 30-29 against Cuthbertson.
East Rowan lost to East Meck 46-27 in the final.
East’s Cole Goucher was 5-0 at 106, while Lucas Restrepo was 5-0 at 132.
• In the Sabre Invitational for girls, the Mustangs were third in the team scoring.
East’s Courtney Stough (100) and Taylor Moore (235) won their weight classes.
Viola Alcaida-Cameron was second at 165.
Gwynn Goucher (114) and Cristen Robinson (165) placed third.
Allison Torres (126) and Hayden Osborne (138) were fourth.
