SALISBURY — Bailee Goodlett (knee) and Mary Spry (concussion) are sidelined, but Catawba’s women’s basketball team has to keep plugging along.
Spry got a concussion in the recent game at Wingate.
The Indians (6-7, 4-4) shot 45 percent on Saturday, made seven 3-pointers and were able to beat UVA Wise 69-54 for a South Atlantic Conference win.
Catawba led all the way and held the Cavaliers to 31-percent shooting as 167 fans looked on.
Injuries mean opportunity for other players, and Makayla Stokes had a career game with 11 points and seven rebounds to lead the Indians. Saniya Wilson had 10 points and four steals. Also scoring 10 for Catawba were Brooklin Ingram and Sheree Gidney.
Caroline Mullins got nine of her 17 points at the foul line to lead UVA Wise (8-6, 5-3).

SALISBURY — Livingstone’s women’s basketball team scored 92 points — and still lost — on Saturday at New Trent Gym.
Bluefield State took a 97-92 victory that included a high-scoring overtime session.
It was a roller-coaster game, as the Blue Bears fell behind 41-32 at the half, dominated the third quarter to take the lead, and then saw Bluefield State rally in the fourth quarter to get the game to OT.
Azahreya Drayton-Gill scored 21 for the Big Blue (8-6, 2-3).
Jamyrah Cherry, who starred at Salisbury High, had her best game for the Blue Bears. She made both of her 3-point attempts and had 11 points and four assists.
Breasia Coit had 19 points and 10 rebounds. Nielle Reaves had 17 points and 14 rebounds. Boston Bates scored 16.
Livingstone (2-13, 1-4) shot 44 percent and made eight 3-pointers.
