GRANITE QUARRY — Carson’s Joseph Little won his 150th career match on Wednesday as the Cougars wrestled Northwest Cabarrus.
The South Piedmont Conference tri-match was hosted by East Rowan.
Little wrestles at 120 pounds. He’s only lost once this season. That was to a Hough wrestler in the KTown Throwdown in November.
Little achieved his 100th victory in December 2024.
The Rowan County record for wins was set last season by West Rowan’s Kevin O’Brien at 182. O’Brien broke the record of 173 that Danny Misenheimer had set at East Rowan in 2000. Misenheimer’s teammate Steve Fox won 166 matches.
Carson’s Brandon Sloop, a four-time state qualifier, a three-time state placer and a state champion, won 154 matches from 2012-15.
