WINGATE — Gray Stone’s boys and girls swept the Yadkin Valley Conference Swimming Championships held at Wingate University.
Gray Stone’s boys scored 278 points. Union Academy was second with 145. Next were North Rowan (92) and North Stanly (16). South Stanly and Albemarle do not have teams.
Rylan Furr led North Rowan. He was third in the 100 butterfly in 1:11.87. Furr was fourth in 1:18.75 in the 100 breaststroke.
Furr swam with Ben Marzano, Charles Coleman and Rli Funez on two relays. North was fourth in the 200 medley relay and sixth in the 200 free relay. Gray Stone had multiple strong teams in the relays.

Gray Stone’s girls scored 265 points. Union Academy was second with 223. Next were North Stanly (41), South Stanly (25) and North Rowan (15). Albemarle did not compete.
North Rowan’s Daniela Marzano was fifth in the 200 IM and eighth in the 100 free.
