The always popular remembrance of wartime Christmas returns to the Price of Freedom Museum on both Sunday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 14. Live Christmas music in the Old School Auditorium will feature NuHiWay on Dec. 7 from 3-5 p.m. Then on Sunday, Dec. 14, Strings of Victory will take the stage, again from 3-5 p.m.
New this year will be a “Do You Remember?” display. Retuning is the WWII-era three-room house decorated for Christmas, where holiday refreshments will be served.
Also new this year are the spectacular outdoor graphics on the window spaces of the building. The cafeteria has been completely redone and organized, with all identified photos and pictures arranged alphabetically on walls. A “Can you help us?” section includes photos and pictures that cannot currently be identified, and the public’s help is needed. A WWII-era military wood stove has also been added.
All displays will be open, and all military branches are represented. Drop by to “Remember Christmas from the Past!” As always, we invite you to honor the “Price of Our Freedom.”
Work continues for the 2026 90th year reunion of all past students and their families from Patterson School which opened in 1936 and closed in 1976.
Admission is free although donations are accepted which will help with operating expenses. Price of Freedom Museum is located at 2420 Weaver Road, China Grove. Call Bobby Harrison at 704-202-3301 for more information on Christmas on the Homefront.
