On Monday night, a video was shared on Facebook of a City of Salisbury Transit bus with the back door open while a man sat in a wheelchair in front of the open door.
Antoinette Wansley shared the video on her page that showed the door of the bus open. The video has over 42,000 views as of publication.
“Also before I started recording he was definitely speeding around the curve coming through Spencer,” Wansley said in her post.
The City of Salisbury shared a statement in response on Facebook saying that they were aware of the situation.
“We take the safety of all passengers very seriously. We are actively investigating the situation and want to assure everyone that Salisbury Transit services remain safe,” the post on Facebook said.
This sentiment was reiterated by Community Engagement Director Anne Little.
“We want all our passengers to know that our transit system is safe,” Little said.
