The NCHSAA released pairings and seeds on Sunday for the boys soccer state playoffs.
Playoff ction starts on Tuesday, with the team with the better seed hosting. Round 2 is set for Thursday.
As expected, Salisbury (16-0-5) received a bye in the 4A West bracket. The Hornets are a 4 seed.
They’ll be at home in the second round against the winner of the Bandys-West Iredell match, a 13 vs. 20 matchup.
Carson and East Rowan finished very close in the final RPI. Carson is the 18 seed in the 5A West bracket, while the Mustangs are the 19 seed.
Carson (10-10) plays at 15 seed Monroe (12-7-4), which has made a big step up to 5A this season. Monroe was a 2A for many years.
East (10-10-1) makes the trip to Gastonia to play the 14th-seeded Green Wave of Hunter Huss (10-8-1).
North Rowan is in the 2A West bracket as the 20 seed. The Cavaliers (4-13-3) didn’t get a bad draw. They’ll go to 13 Albemarle (9-9-1), a conference opponent that they tied not too long ago.
South Rowan is in the 4A bracket. The Raiders (3-14-2) finished seventh in the South Piedmont Conference but made the playoffs as the 21 seed. They’ll travel to Monroe to take on CATA (12-10-2). CATA is the 12 seed.
A.L. Brown (6-15-3) was the one of the last teams to make the 7A West bracket. The Wonders, seeded 23rd, will go to Charlotte on Tuesday to take on Independence (14-4).
