SALISBURY — Livingstone College invites alumni, students and the greater Salisbury community to celebrate Stonecoming 2025, the ultimate day of Blue Bear pride, tradition and connection on Saturday, Nov. 1.
This year’s theme, “We’re Live. We’re Lit. We’re Livingstone,” is aimed to capture the energy, legacy and vibrant spirit that define the Blue Bear experience.
“The day-long celebration, known as The Stonecoming Experience, will unite generations of Blue Bears for a full schedule of signature events, live entertainment and community fellowship,” noted a release from the school.
The Stonecoming Day Parade – 9 a.m.
The day kicks off with the Stonecoming Day Parade, beginning at South Caldwell and West Thomas streets and continuing along West Monroe Street past the Livingstone College campus. The 2025 parade will feature more than 75 entries, including marching bands from across the country, dance troupes, civic organizations, reunion classes, local officials and Livingstone’s own Blue Thunder Marching Band, Blue Elegance and Royal Court, led by Miss Livingstone College Christian Oliver and Mister Livingstone College Kaiyon Courtney.
Serving as grand marshal is Larry Sommerville, Class of 1973, an esteemed alumnus, dedicated supporter of Livingstone’s Study Abroad Program and lifelong advocate for student engagement.
Homecoming football game – 2 p.m.
The celebration continues at Alumni Memorial Stadium as the Livingstone College Blue Bears take on Shaw University in the annual Homecoming Football Game. Fans can expect a packed house of alumni, students and community supporters cheering on the Blue Bears.
The Stonecoming Experience Concert – 6 p.m.
The excitement peaks with The Stonecoming Experience Concert at 6 p.m. in Varick Auditorium, featuring legendary performers DJ Kool, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick and Carl Thomas. The night will be filled with live entertainment, nostalgic hits and the unmistakable rhythm of the Blue Bear spirit.
Throughout the day, attendees will enjoy vendors, food trucks and live entertainment across campus, creating an atmosphere of celebration and community engagement.
Tickets and admission
Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. Each ticket includes a required wristband granting access to all Saturday events, including the parade, football game, concert and vendor areas.
