The identity of a man who died in a house fire in Landis on Wednesday has been released.
The town confirmed in a release that Paul Martin Adamaszek, who owned the home and was the sole resident, was the man who died in the fire.
A cause of the fire has not been released, but the town stated in the release that the N.C. State Bureau of Investigations has been called in to assist the Landis Police Department and Rowan County Fire Marshal’s Office with the investigation.
The Landis Fire Department responded to a home located at 209 W. Taylor St. at approximately 10:40 p.m., according to a previous release from the town, and confirmed the active structure fire. Crews attempted to control the fire for over an hour, but ultimately the fire destroyed the home.
