There were no surprises in the opening round of the South Piedmont Conference Volleyball Tournament.
Carson and South Rowan hosted two matches each.
Top-seeded Carson (24-3) swept eighth-seeded Salisbury (5-18).
Fourth-seeded West Rowan (11-9) swept fifth-seeded Robinson.
Second-seeded South Rowan (18-5) swept seventh-seeded Northwest Cabarrus
Third-seeded East Rowan (18-10) swept sixth-seeded Concord. Alli Corl had 16 kills. Jordan Dry had 14 digs. jacee Eudy had 24 assists.
In Tuesday’s semifinals hosted by South, Carson faced West Rowan while East Rowan took on South Rowan.
South will host the championship game on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

North Rowan (5-18) was swept by Gray Stone in the first round of the Yadkin Valley Conference Tournament.
