LANDIS — South Rowan won 6-3 against Carson in a Senior Night game for the Raiders.
The teams have had similar seasons. The Raiders are 4-9, all in the South Piedmont Conference. Carson is 4-10 overall and 4-8 in the SPC.
South finishes up the regular season at East Rowan in a match that could go either way. Carson will be a big underdog in remaining matches against Salisbury and West Rowan.
The teams split singles. South got wins from seniors Sophie Steedley, Audrey Daniel and Kynlee Carey at 1, 2 and 4.
Carson got singles wins from three young players at 3, 5 and 6 — freshmen Lainey Sifford and Brooklyn Johnson and sophomore Morgan Hall.
South swept doubles, with Steedley and Carey winning easily at No. 1. Daniel-Kayleigh Draughn won 8-5 at No. 2, while Jayden Overcash-London Smith won 8-4 at No. 3.
