LANDIS — South Rowan won 25-14 against East Rowan in JV football action on Thursday.
Brooks Hunter threw two touchdown passes to Kaiden Fisher and also ran for a score to lead South.
Houstonn Polston had a rushing TD for the Raiders (4-4).
The offensive line and fullbacks did a great job blocking.
Jeb Ritchie had an interception. Scion Twyman and Polston had fumble recoveries.
Caleb Stirewalt kicked a PAT.
Nolan Rowell scored on QB sneak for East (5-4), while Braylen Yates scored on a 48-yard run.
East will celebrate homecoming on Friday.

CONCORD — West Rowan competed well in Thursday’s 33-21 loss to Northwest Cabarrus.
“We wanted to compete tonight, and we did,” West coach Louis Kraft said. “We’ve been quarterback-less since Week 4. Starter got hurt. Backup got hurt. New backup got hurt. Tough year for us. Not many people have one good JV quarterback, much less five.”
Marquavion Robinson stood out for the Falcons (2-6). The running back had two rushing TDs and also threw a TD pass to Nehemiah Goodson, Goodson is the son of Eli Goodson, a star defensive lineman during West’s state championship days.
The Trojans are 9-1.

CONCORD — A.L. Brown’s jayvees won 34-21 against Cox Mill on Thursday.
Nick Gill had a pick-six to spark the Wonders (6-3).
Jamaree Russell, Ryan Wolford, Johnathan Roundtree, Jaylen Boddie and Demani Sutherland were standouts.
The Chargers are 5-3.

SALISBURY — Salisbury’s JVs beat Concord 18-12 in three overtimes.
Kayden Johnson had two rushing touchdowns for the Hornets (2-7). Darrius Graham-Taylor ran for a TD.
Christian Phillips had two sacks, two tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Kingston Carter had two fumble recoveries. Jabril Harris had two sacks.
Tristian Seeyle, Jazireon Sanders and Ben Yost had tackles for loss.
The Spiders are 0-9.
