Jordan Hill, Georgia beat writer for Dawgs247, named Jalon Walker as one of his three linebackers on the All-Georgia Quarter Century team for the 2000-2024 seasons.
Jalon Walker flashed early in his Georgia career, but it took a while for the coaches to find the perfect role for him. He played mostly on special teams as a freshman before coming on as a pass rusher in 2023, as evidenced by his 20 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks. He became a more integral part of the Georgia defense in 2024 and in the process became the go-to pass rusher for the Bulldogs.
Walker got more run at inside linebacker as a junior and seemed to shine every time he was on the field. He ended the season with 60 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries, and his highlight reel was something to see. He took over Georgia’s regular season game at Texas and also delivered play after play against Florida and Tennessee.
Walker fulfilled his massive potential in 2024 and brought home the Butkus as a result. While Georgia fans are now gearing up to see him make plays with the Falcons, there’s no denying how effective No. 11 was during his Saturday playing days.
