ScreenshotStaff reportMISENHEIMER – Pfeiffer’s softball team beat N.C. Wesleyan 14-0 and 6-4 on Saturday to win the USA South Tournament for the fourth straight time.
Pfeiffer freshman EA Nance (West Rowan) was the tournament MVP. Nance had a homer, a double and four RBIs in the first game.
Nance had three hits, with two doubles, and two RBIs in the second game.
Nance is batting .360 for the season with six homers, 39 RBIs and a .360 batting average.
Landry Stewart (Carson) had two hits and two RBIs in the first game and two hits and three steals in the second game. She was one of seven Falcons (37-9) named to the all-tournament team.
Stewart was USA South Player of the Year for the second time. She’s batting . 507 with 58 runs scored and a record-setting 72 steals.
Pfeiffer is an automatic qualifier for the D-III playoffs. The field for that tournament will be announced on Monday, May 11.
