SALISBURY – GARS members played with a Captain’s Choice format on Monday at Corbin Hills Golf Club, with the teams picked by a computer.
Three teams tied for first with a minus-9. A scorecard playoff determined the order of finish. First was the team of Steve Matteson, Carl Moore, Randy Lipe and Gary Stevenson. Second was the team of Winsten Mahaffey, Rocky Deaver, Gary Hahn and Tommy Gamewell. Third was the team of Larry Petrea, Mike Whitaker, Mike Van Hecke and Rick Harris.
Closest to the pin winners were Frank Gobble (No. 2), Ray Pope (No. 5), John Struzik (No. 13) and Matteson (No. 16).
Longest putt on No. 9 was made by Deaver.
Five teams eagled the par-5 No. 6 hole. They were Team Petrea, Whitaker, Van Hecke, Harris; Team Honeycutt, R, Honeycutt, T, Butner, Seamon; TeamPeeler, T, Rosier, McBride, Croote; Team Barger, R. Barger, J.Bradshaw, Collins, Hudson: and Team Newell, Miller, Goodman, Lundy.

GRANITE QUARRY – Mooresville won 4-2 at East Rowan in a non-conference game on Thursday.
Lily Kluttz hit a two-run homer for the Mustangs (9-6), her seventh of the season.
Mooresville is 9-5.

SALISBURY – North Hills Christian outscored Salisbury 21-10 on Thursday.
It was the first win for the Eagles (1-4). They scored 11 runs in the second inning.
Khloe Burroff-Smith homered for the Hornets. She had three hits and scored three runs.
Burroff-Smith, Aliyah Horton and Kyndall Edwards had two RBIs. Edwards had a double. Allison Jones and Dazmin Ambers scored twice.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
MOORESVILLE – South Rowan got strong pitching from Rhyne Keller and Colton Helms and beat Lake Norman 5-2 in Thursday’s non-conference game.
Lake Norman was held to four hits.
Christian Sandoval hit a two-run homer in the first inning for the Wildcats (11-7), but they didn’t score again.
South (16-1) got single runs in the third and fifth to tie the game and won it with three runs in the top of the seventh.

HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS
SALISBURY – Salisbury lost 6-3 to Reagan in a non-conference match played on Thursday.
Bryant Davis and Aiden Moss won singles matches for the Hornets (13-2). AJ Jarrell teamed with Davis to win at No. 1 doubles.
Reagan is 13-3.
