SALISBURY — Salisbury Police detectives arrested a man on Friday for his alleged role in a Thursday killing.
According to a release from Chief Patrick “PJ” Smith, SPD detectives arrested 25-year-old Namyous Dejhmariek’Kali Jackson, in Kannapolis without incident.
Jackson has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 40-year-old Sebastian Rankin Jr. The Kannapolis Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation assisted with the arrest and investigation.
The charge stems from the Thursday incident when officers responded to a reported residential breaking and entering in progress and located multiple individuals with injuries, including one person who had been shot and later pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation determined the incident was domestic-related and involved multiple individuals.
