MORROW, Ga. — Morehouse College won the SIAC Men’s Basketball Tournament championship, completing a run through the tournament with a 66-56 win against Tuskegee on Saturday night.
Morehouse won mostly with defense, holding Tuskegee to 36-percent shooting.
The tournament was played at Clayton County Convocation Center,
Morehouse was the SIAC East regular-season champ and is now 22-9.
The Maroon Tigers are coached by North Rowan and JC Smith graduate Larry Dixon, who is in his first year at the school and in his first year as a head coach.
They clinched an automatic berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament. It’s the first conference title for Morehouse since 2003 and this will be the first d-II Tournament appearance since 2018.
