SPENCER — North Rowan’s girls basketball team won 55-50 against Gray Stone on Thursday’s Senior Night.
It was close, but North did enough to get another Yadkin Valley Conference victory. North won 42-38 against the Knights (2-17, 0-10) in the first meeting.
The key for the Cavaliers (7-14, 5-4) was a 24-point second quarter. Senior Adrionna King made two 3-pointers in that big second quarter, while Melanie Parker made three buckets.
King connected on two more 3s in the third quarter.
King scored a career-high 14, one more point than she scored on opening night.
Zakiya Oglesby also scored 14 and turned in another monster rebounding effort. She’s been getting 20 in some YVC games.
Kanya Cowan scored 12 points, while Parker finished with 11.
North is 38th in the 2A West RPI rankings. Gray Stone is 57th out of 58 2A teams.
The Cavaliers will wrap up the regular season at South Stanly on Friday.
