SALISBURY — High school basketball teams hope to return to action later this week, with some games currently scheduled for Thursday and a full slate of action set for Friday.
Some games also will be played on Saturday afternoon, including the much anticipated Carson at Salisbury boys game.
Carson won the South Piedmont Conference game at Carson, while Salisbury won in the finals of the Christmas Tournament.
The plan is for a boys JV game to start the action on Saturday at SHS, with the girls varsity game at 11 a.m., with the boys varsity game to follow at about 12:30 p.m.
Also scheduled for Saturday is West Rowan at Concord. West’s girls are still undefeated. The West-Concord boys game is a significant contest between two of the teams vying to make the playoffs and finish in the top half of the league. West’s girls are scheduled to play at noon, with the boys game to follow.
A.L. Brown’s teams are now scheduled to play at Central Cabarrus on Saturday afternoon.
North Rowan has rescheduled games at Albemarle for next Monday.
The schedule is really backed up with two winter storms, and some teams are going to be playing three nights in a row.
