SALISBURY — The plan is for the South Piedmont Conference basketball season to resume on Thursday after the winter storm brought an icy interruption.
Games currently scheduled for Thursday are West Rowan at Concord and East Rowan at Robinson.
The West Rowan-Concord boys game and the East Rowan-Robinson girls game should be tight ones.
There’s a full slate of SPC games scheduled for Friday: Robinson at West Rowan; Carson at East Rowan; Salisbury at South Rowan, and Northwest Cabarrus at Concord. The Salisbury and South Rowan girls are in a battle for third, so that could be a tight one.
No reschedule date has been announced yet for the game that was drawing the most interest — Carson at Salisbury. That game had been scheduled for Tuesday of this week.
In the Yadkin Valley Conference, North Rowan plans to get back on the court against Gray Stone at home on Thursday and on the road at South Stanly on Friday.
In the Greater Metro Conference, there are a few games now scheduled for Thursday. A.L. Brown plans to return to action Friday at Olympic.
