SALISBURY — Livingstone’s men’s basketball team has spent most of the season on the road, taking lumps and learning lessons.
The Blue Bears got to play a rare home game on Wednesday, but the results weren’t good. Converse shot the lights out at New Trent Gym in front of 100 fans and beat LC 88-77 in a non-conference game.
Livingstone (4-8) won the battle on the boards and shot a respectable 46.4 percent, but Converse (5-5) had a scorching shooting night, 51 percent and an insane 15-for-27 on 3-pointers. Cameron Edmonds shot 6-for-9 from 3.
Janes Nipper scored 20 for the Blue Bears, who have lost their last four. Erick Coffey had 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Myles Smith (Salisbury) scored eight points for Belmont Abbey in a 76-68 loss to Winston-Salem State. He got 14 minutes as the first Crusader off the bench.

Juke Harris (Salisbury) shot a low percentage, but he still managed to score 17 points in Wake Forest’s 70-57 loss to NC State. He had six rebounds.
Harris is averaging 19.7 points and 6.7 rebounds.
