HARROGATE, Tenn. — Catawba’s women’s basketball team lost its fourth game in a row on Friday afternoon.
The Indians were wiped out 71-38 by Lincoln Memorial in a game moved up a day by weather concerns. Catawba beat Lincoln Memorial 54-51 at home in early December, but Friday’s rematch was dominated by the Railsplitters.
Catawba (7-12, 5-9) shot 31.5 percent from the floor and 3-for-20 from the 3-point line, scored a grand total of one point at the foul line (1-for-5) and got mauled on the boards. It was a long trip and a tough day.
LMU (16-3, 11-3) is one of four teams competing for the South Atlantic Conference championship and stayed in the race.
LMU led 17-6 after a quarter and by 37-17 at halftime. It was a 33-point game after three quarters.
Alexa Smiddy made three 3s for LMU in the second quarter alone.
Imani Williams led Catawba with 12 points.
